After leaving the Shipbuilding industry John worked as a successful sole trader gaining experience in all electrical fields from shop-fitting to Oil Platform repair before taking on Electrical contracts on a fixed cost basis throughout London. For the last 10 years John has been mainly involved in London Underground and Network rail Projects and in 2006 commenced working for Margal where he has maintained a good track record of managing contracts from conception to completion. In 2011 John became the operations director for Margal and plays a pivotal position in managing both the Electrical and Environmental sides of the business

Melanie left Scotland in 2000 to move to Kent, England after the birth of her first child with her husband, Simon. They then moved to Vaulry, France where they had two more children and due to demand in business moved back to the United Kingdom. Together they formed a successful electrical company called Margal Contract Services Ltd in 2003,Margal Major Projects Ltd in 2006 and Margal Environmental Ltd in 2011. Melanie continues to work for The Margal Group where she successfully manages all financial aspects of the business.
